When Cleis Press contacted me to review their new book, The Sexy Librarian’s Big Book of Erotica, I was happy to oblige. When I opened it up, I read the words “Libraries are full of endless possibilities” and I couldn’t agree more!
This anthology includes twenty-two erotic stories. I especially love the catalog cards that introduce each story. They give the feel of being in a naughty library along with a glimpse into what the story contains. Categories include BDSM, Greek mythology, romance, superheros, fantasy, horror, kink, science fiction, fairy tales, steampunk, Americana, alternative medicine, supernatural, mating customs, and more. The diversity means that everyone should find something they like. The stories are short enough to be enjoyed in a single sitting, making them great for a nightly read.
Overall, I enjoyed this anthology and am happy to add it to my library. Some of the stories didn’t appeal to me personally, others were okay, and some were amazing. When I first started reading this book, I couldn’t put it down. I’m not into horror in any way (even commercials for scary movies freak me out), so those stories were hard for me to get through. My body reacted quite differently than my mind to some of the stories I didn’t think I would like – I suppose my pussy likes what it likes.
My favorite story was “Book Swap” by Rachel Kramer Bussel. The combination of meeting a sexy stranger, relinquishing control, and a good spanking had me wanting to board the next plane to anywhere in hopes of living out the story.
The stories included in The Sexy Librarian’s Big Book of Erotica are “Book Swap” by Rachel Kramer Bussel, “Sensate Silicone” by Lillian Douglas, “Three Legs in the Evening” by Janine Ashbless, “The Contest” by Michael Lewis, “The Secret Game” by Chase Morgan, “POW! It’s Shibari Girl!” by Tasmin Flowers, “Vivi and the Magic Man” by Kristina Wright, “Second Look” by Heidi Champa, “Taped” by Kay Jaybee, “Lauren’s Journey” by D.L. King, “A Perverted Fairy Tale” by Emily Bingham, “The Skilled Technician” by Kate Maxwell, “Shades of Desire” by Allen Dusk, “Moonshine Ballad” by Salome Wilde, “Cherries in Season” by KD Grace, “The Perfect Massage” by Olivia Archer, “Full-Frontal Neighbor” by Lynn Townsend, “The Whole of Me” by Katya Harris, “Notes on a Scandal” by Kelly Maher, “Appetizer” by Sommer Marsden, “Mikhael” by Angela Caperton, and “The Mating Chamber” by Rose Caraway.
Rose Caraway did an amazing job compiling such an extensive array of erotica into The Sexy Librarian’s Big Book of Erotica. I definitely recommend this book!
Exclusive Excerpt from “Vivi and the Magic Man” by Kristina Wright, part of the anthology The Sexy Librarian’s Big Book of Erotica:
Vivi pressed her body to his, her curves molded to his angular planes as if by design—but of course it was. This was their fate, their destiny. The sacrifice of many to appease the two and set the world to balance again. They would give themselves for her, willingly, gladly, throwing themselves into the flames, onto the knives, into the darkest of wicked nights. For her, they would die. And he would receive them as was his right. They would go to their deaths with her name on their lips, but with his mark on their souls.
He grasped her to him, knowing at last he had found his match. The weight of his cock pressed against her, large, full and beautiful—a vanity he indulged like all his vices. He was not the creator of these grim devils, he was the mirror—enhanced, more pleasing to the eye, but dark and dead beneath the surface. For the moment he was as alive as he would ever be, his body aching for the release the others around him sought as well. Vivi rocked against him in encouragement, her face shrouded by a veil of hair, her beauty obscured but not muted, for it seemed to hum in the air around her. It didn’t matter; her image was seared into his mind like every deed he’d done and every soul he’d claimed. She was his, as much as this gypsy cir- cus existing at the very rim of Hell itself.
“You may have them,” she said, her lips pressed to his ear, her hands working the buttons on his trousers, freeing him as he would soon free her minions. “But I will have you.”
“And so it will be,” he promised, rending her blouse to useless shreds, the ancient fabric screaming as if alive.
